The organization of our consultation hours
Our consultation hours take place by appointment. In order to offer you a smooth process and short waiting times, we are dependent on your assistance.
When making an appointment, please state the exact reason for your visit so that our medical assistants can estimate the duration of your visit. Sending existing documents (findings, physician's letters, imaging such as X-ray/CT/MRI on CD) in advance also helps us to prepare your appointment well and avoid duplicate examinations.
As there are still organizational matters to be dealt with before the consultation and examination by the physician (e.g. admission, capillary blood count), please come to our registration desk 15 minutes before your appointment. If you are unable to keep your appointment or will be late, please give us re-registration by telephone in good time. Please have the following ready when you register:
- your child's insurance card and
- a referral slip with the note Children's Special Outpatient Clinic
- existing laboratory results, physician's letters and imaging on CD
Outside of our consultation hours from 08:00 -16:00 (during school vacations from 08:00 -13:00), you are welcome to leave appointment or prescription requests on our answering machine. Please state your child's name, your contact details and, if applicable, your appointment or prescription request and we will get back to you or send you the prescriptions.
In urgent medical emergencies after office hours or at the weekend, please contact the oncological background service or the emergency department of the children's clinic via the children's clinic gate or, in the case of coagulation disorders, the on-duty staff at the hemophilia center.
- Phone +49 511 532-3220 (Children's Hospital gate)
- Phone +49 178 4024962 (Haemophilia Center duty nurse)
As our special outpatient consultation hours are part of a maximum care university hospital that focuses on the inpatient care of seriously ill patients, there may unfortunately be delays from time to time due to emergencies, particularly in the case of agreed medical examinations. We ask for your understanding and strive for transparency.
