Multi-card/payment system
When you personalize your multi-card for the first time, the tariff that applies to you (staff, student or guest price) is stored on the card chip.
Guest passes (yellow-colored multi-cards) are not necessarily subject to guest prices at the ticket offices, but may also be subject to reduced rates. The cash register system recognizes which price category applies via the reader at the cash registers. Please contact us if you have any doubts about the correctness of your fare classification.
Only valid cards are accepted at the ticket machines and ticket stations.
Multi-cards issued for a limited period of time must be extended after the expiry date if you are still employed or studying at MHH.
Please use the cashless payment system
The multi-card debit procedure enables a much faster payment process at the cash desks compared to cash payment, as the system automatically selects the correct tariff.
To pay by card, place your card on the reader at the cash desk. The payment process is complete when the LED display changes from red to green.
The cashier will print out a receipt for you on request.
Please ensure that you have sufficient credit on your card, as no top-up is carried out at the checkout stations.
Please note that guest prices will be charged for cash payments (only admitted at cash desk1).

Loading the multi-card
The cards can be topped up with banknotes of €5, €10, €20 and €50 up to a maximum of €80. It is not possible to top up using an EC card or other cash cards.
When topping up your card, please follow the instructions on the display of the recharger. Please do not remove your card until prompted to do so. If the card is removed too early, the payment function at the cash registers will be blocked. In this case, the card must be re-inserted into the relevant recharger to complete the transaction.
If you have any questions about topping up your card, please contact the cashier, who will be happy to help you.
You will find the top-up machines at the following locations:
2 recharging points in the foyer of the Canteen (building K15/level HO), available for recharging Monday to Friday: 10:30 to 14:30 (excluding public holidays)
1 charging station (wheelchair accessible) in the Canteen free flow, unlocked for charging Mondays to Fridays 11:30 to 14:15 (excluding public holidays)
1 charging station in the staff cafeteria (building K6/level SO), enabled for charging Mondays to Fridays 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (excluding public holidays)
1 revaluator in the ZMK cafeteria (building K20/level SO), disabled for recharging Mondays to Fridays 9:15 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (excluding public holidays)

Defective card
If your multi-card triggers error messages when topping up or at the reader of a pay station, please call the cash desk supervisor in case of doubt.
The error message "448" means that you have removed the card too early from the recharger when recharging or too early from the reader during the last payment action. The card must then be reinserted into the respective revaluator or placed on the reader to complete the revaluation or devaluation process.
-
Loss of card
If you have lost your card in the Canteen or in the staff cafeterias, please first contact the cashier or call our office assistant (phone -3381).
-
Card credit on termination of studies, employment orapprenticeship
If you are leaving the MHH in the foreseeable future, please ensure that you use up your card balance in good time. If this is not possible, the remaining credit will be refunded in cash on request.

Card credit if the multi-card is defective or lost
The refund of the card balance must first be applied for at the card issuing office (Information and Service in the K6 dormitory or Student Secretariat). You will receive a certificate from there. The credit is paid out in cash in the Canteen.
Please make an appointment with our office assistant (telephone -3381), which can usually be arranged at short notice.
