Acute myeloid leukemia / myelodysplastic syndromes

Management: Prof. Dr. med. Felicitas Thol

Acute leukemias are malignant blood cancers that affect blood formation particularly quickly and require treatment. Complex diagnostics of blood and bone marrow are important for  treatment decision, as, based on the results, targeted drugs are viable treatment options. Notably, the therapeutic landscape for the heterogeneous group of myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) has been expanded over the last few years thanks to advanced diagnostics.

Our Clinical Department covers the entire spectrum of diagnostics (including molecular diagnostics) and therapy (outpatient and inpatient therapies, stem cell transplantation, phase 1-3 therapy studies) for these diseases. We work closely with the German study groups for AML (AMLSG), ALL (GMALL) and MDS (D-MDS) as well as international study groups. Our aim here is to give patients access to new therapy concepts.

It is important to us to provide you with good advice and to support you with our expertise in the treatment of your disease.
