The Competence Centre Public Health, Primary Health Care and Health Services Research (CPPH) brings together those scientists at Hannover Medical School (MHH) that are particularly specialized in these fields. Doing so by including both theoretical, clinical, and clinical-theoretical disciplines within a single competence centre, synergies are fostered, and the methodological and technical expertise in public health, primary health care, and health services research – which has been built up over many years at the MHH – is made even more visible. At the same time, these synergies strengthen bridges between disciplines relevant to research, teaching, and patient care at the MHH, as well as with external partners outside the MHH. External institutions that make relevant contributions in the fields of public health, primary health care, and health services research may be admitted to the CPPH as associate members.

The founding members are seven MHH institutions (see below). To date, associated members are the Public Health Agency of Lower Saxony (NLGA), the Hanover Region, and the AOK Lower Saxony.
