Subject area Patient care
Food production for patients is carried out by the wholefood kitchen and the diet kitchen. After production, the meals are assigned to the transport trolleys and delivered to the relevant wards by the transport service.
The menu for the current calendar week is displayed in each patient room. Each patient is automatically assigned a diet when they are newly admitted, usually a light full diet. Patients without an indication for a dietary measure can choose between the following types of food every day:
-
Whole food
-
Whole food, especially for children
-
Vegetarian diet
-
Vital food
-
Light whole food
-
Light wholefood without pork
It is also possible to choose the type of food and additional requirements individually within a day; e.g. the wholefood breakfast, the vitality diet lunch and the vegetarian evening meal.
In the afternoon, fresh cake or cookies are served as standard for all patients. A second breakfast (e.g. yoghurt or buttermilk) and a late meal can also be selected. A fresh salad is served for dinner on request.
Changes to the choice of menu and additional requests can be taken into account immediately up to the portioning times. This is advantageous for the patient, as changes to the order at short notice - depending on hunger and appetite - can be implemented.
If nutritional therapy is indicated, you will receive a meal from the diet kitchen that is tailored to your needs, e.g. in the case of gluten intolerance (coeliac disease), fructose intolerance and lactose intolerance- possibly with the involvement of a nutritionist.
