- Trained as a physiotherapist and studied social sciences at the University of Hanover and at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa
- Since 1985 working as a physiotherapist in the Clinical Department and in private practice, further training in MT and OMT
- Since 1999 Project organization and research activities on women's bodies, women's and maternal health, gender equality at universities, skills acquisition in the context of informal education and social work opportunities
