Admission and application procedure for the first semester
Places on the Bachelor's degree program in Midwifery Science are allocated via the university's own admission procedure. You can find details on the allocation of study places in the Lower Saxony University Admission Ordinance (NHZVO). Please also refer to the admission regulations.
Admissions for the first semester are only possible for the winter semester of each year.
- German and EU citizens as well as persons with a German university entrance qualification can apply via MHH Online Campus from 01.06.2025 to 15.07.2025.
- Applicants from non-EU countries and stateless persons can apply via Uni Assist until 31.05.2025.

Admission criteria:
- University entrance qualification:
- Abitur, Fachgebundene Hochschulreife [Fachhochschulreife with a focus on health (acquired through a Fachoberschule qualification with a "Health" subject section)] or,
- Vocational training: Health and children's nurse, health and nursing nurse, medical assistant, surgical assistant, psychotherapist, nurse + 3 years of professional experience. - Proof of a pre-study internship: 4 weeks full-time in obstetrics, not older than 2 years. The pre-study internship may be divided into 2-week periods and must be completed in full by July 15 (application deadline).
- Medical health certificate confirming medical fitness to practise the midwifery profession (form: Appendix 5 of the admission regulations).
- Proof of measles vaccinations must be submitted when signing a training contract.
Please note:
It depends on both your nationality and where you obtained your university entrance qualification whether you have to apply via MHH OnlineCampus or Uni Assist. The criteria for an application via UniAssist correspond to those for human medicine or dentistry and can be found in the following overview.
Please also take note of any required language certificates (category A+ and A).
The documents must be submitted via the university's own application portal and submitted in the original if admission is granted. Please keep all documents in a safe place!

The selection procedure takes into account the final grade of the highest educational qualification as well as any relevant professional training, waiting time and voluntary activities. Statutory quotas and regulations on second degrees are also taken into account. The selected applications will be informed from the end of July.
If you are admitted to the program, you can specify three preferred clinics from our partner list. You do not need to look for a practice clinic yourself.
