Tumor documentation and research

Medical-clinical research and basic medical research are among the central tasks of the CCC Hannover (Claudia von Schilling Center). The data from the tumor documentation can be the starting point and basis for scientific research projects in cancer medicine and support scientists in their work.
The tumor documentation can, for example, determine how many patients with certain differentiated disease characteristics are being treated and whether the CCC Hannover is therefore suitable as a site for conducting a corresponding clinical therapy study ("feasibility").
For research projects approved by the Ethics Committee, the registry data can be merged with other data sources, including the biobank, and are thus available for complex evaluations with high data quality. This means that duplicate documentation can be avoided.

It goes without saying that data protection regulations are complied with when handling the data.
