Welcome to the Head and Neck Tumor Center
We offer people with cancer of the entire head and neck area, e.g. tumors of the larynx, pharynx, oral cavity and major salivary glands, the best care in all phases of the disease and the recovery process. The Head and Neck Tumor Center meets the quality criteria set by the German Cancer Society and has been awarded the title "Head and Neck Tumor Center with Recommendation of the German Cancer Society".
Specialists in oral and maxillofacial surgery and otorhinolaryngology, radiotherapy, oncology, radiology, nuclear medicine, dermatology, pathology/histology work together on an interdisciplinary basis (in some cases with other disciplines) and can draw on the latest diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for individual treatment planning. We use the latest state-of-the-art treatment methods and biomedical technology. In addition, we offer our patients the opportunity to receive new therapeutic agents as part of clinical trials if other standard treatment methods have reached their limits.
By working closely as a team with psycho-oncologists, social workers, oncology nurses, nutritionists, speech therapists, epithetists and physiotherapists, we can guarantee the best possible care for our patients. We also work closely with various self-help groups.
The aftercare and rehabilitation phase is also very important to us. To this end, we cooperate with our rehabilitation and sports medicine specialists as well as with a large number of rehabilitation clinics. Nutritional advice teams and specialized nursing staff train our patients and their relatives during their stay in order to ensure the best possible preparation for everyday life at home. On request, we establish contact with representatives of self-help groups before the operation in order to provide our patients with first-hand experience reports.
