Recognizing needs & communicating clearly - returning to work after illness
Returning to "normal" (working) life with/after cancer brings new challenges, uncertainties - and the opportunity to consciously perceive your own needs and stand up for yourself. Many of those affected ask themselves:
How can I feel and express my boundaries and needs more clearly?
In this workshop, you will learn in a practical way what needs actually are, why they become so important after an illness - and how you can formulate them in an appreciative and understandable way with the help of non-violent communication (NVC). Both at work and in your private life.
You will be given space for your questions and experiences, practise specific conversation situations and take strengthening impulses and permission phrases with you into everyday life.
Contents:
- What are (my) needs - and how do I recognize them?
- Practice: Formulating your own needs in everyday situations
- Impulses for more self-care, clarity and resilience
- Permission sentences and courage tasks to take away
For whom?
For people with/after cancer who want to (re)start their (professional) life or want to shape their everyday (working) life in a healthy and self-determined way.
What to bring:
- Openness and a desire to exchange ideas
- Writing utensils for your own notes
When the nerves get out of line
Do you suffer from one or more of the following symptoms: tingling of the hands and/or feet, numbness/loss of feeling, sensations of any kind (e.g. heat/cold/stinging/electrical impulses...), unsteady gait and stumbling as well as, for example, lack of strength when holding a cup?
Then our workshop is the right place for you.
The nerves no longer function as they should during or after chemotherapy.
We, the complementary Nursing and Nutritional Counseling team would like to show you practical examples of what you can actively do to improve chemotherapy-induced polyneuropathy (CIPN).
What do I need to bring?
- A towel approx. 50 x 70 cm
- Socks or stopper socks
