Our training as an anesthesia technician assistant
The ATA training
Anesthesia technical assistants (ATA) are part of the anesthesia team.
Their tasks include helping to induce the patient (i.e. anesthesia) and monitoring during the operation with the help of technical equipment and patient observation.
Patients are not always unconscious. Therefore, in addition to a high level of manual dexterity and technical understanding, empathy is also required.
Of course, comprehensive knowledge of anatomy, pharmacology, emergency management and medical science is also required.
Only a few institutions in Germany currently offer training in this professional field. The MHH is thus helping to shape a new training occupation that will quickly become an integral part of the healthcare system.
Training to become an ATA at the MHH is certified by the German Association of Schools for Anesthesia Technical Assistants (DBVSA).
Some of the training takes place together with the OTA courses
This means that the OR team learns together right from the start.
Rotation of theoretical and practical training: Alternating (approx. 3 months)
Qualification: Anesthesia technical assistant
Our training program for surgical assistants
The OTA training
Operating theatre assistants (OTAs) are an important part of the surgical team.
During their three-year training, the trainees learn the various tasks in the surgical service and the functional areas such as the outpatient clinic, endoscopy and central sterilization.
The activities are therefore based on the current tasks of traditional OR nurses who have completed further specialist training.
Activities include the preparation and post-processing of the operating theatre, instrumentation in the various departments or the independent organization and coordination of work processes in the functional departments
The profession of OTA is a young profession that is predicted to have bright future prospects, as specialists for the operating theater will be desperately sought after in the coming decades.
The training takes place partly together with the ATA course
This means that the OR team learns together right from the start.
Through the Erasmus + program, it is possible to complete a practical part of your training abroad. For example, you can gain experience in Austria, Scandinavia or the Mediterranean region.
External seminars
Being on the road and learning - on various seminars and excursions, e.g. dying and death, exam preparation, dialog in the dark, etc. But no matter what: it only works as a team!
Digital learning
Learning is not limited to the blackboard. We use all the latest media in our learning settings and for Communications. And the assignment plan is always updated via the app.
PA concept
During training, trainees are assigned practical instructors from the field. They remain the personal contact persons for the entire 3 years.
Sport & exercise
Not only be mentally fit, but also physically fit! Try your hand at volleyball, swimming, freelethics, jogging and much more. And in warm weather, we move the sessions to the outdoor pool.
Accommodation
During the training, it is possible to live close to the MHH campus. This saves time and money. The rooms are already furnished - and roommates are already waiting for you.
