Both student life and life itself can be very demanding. Individual difficulties are nothing out of the ordinary. The Psychosocial Counseling Service (PSB) gives students the opportunity to talk to a neutral person about themselves, their situation and their problems and, if necessary, about further support options.

Outpatient care for adults with congenital heart defects has been provided by the Clinical Department of Cardiology and Angiology for many years. Together with colleagues from the Clinical Department of Paediatric Cardiology and Intensive Care Medicine, adolescents are cared for in the transition consultation hours.

Advice is also given on school and vocational training, sports activities, disabilities, obtaining a driving license and fitness to fly.

In our outpatient study clinic, patients have the opportunity to participate in new treatment procedures that have not yet been admitted everywhere for the routine treatment of cardiovascular diseases. The safety of the new treatment procedures is our top priority here. Therefore, patients who voluntarily participate in a study program benefit from particularly close and extensive medical monitoring as well as the possibility of regularly scheduled visits to our outpatient clinic.
