Update course for project managers in accordance with the Genetic Engineering Act
Project managers must update their expertise regularly, at least every 5 years. This is stipulated by §28 of the new Genetic Engineering Safety Ordinance, which came into force in March 2021.
To this end, Hannover Medical School will offer a state-approved 1-day update course for MHH project managers in March 2026. The exact date will be announced. Here, participants will receive up-to-date and practical knowledge to maintain their expertise. The event also offers the opportunity to exchange experiences on frequently recurring questions from practice.
2-day basic course "Gene Technology, Biosafety and Biosecurity" - State Approved Course §28 GenTSV for Project Leaders and Responsible Persons for Biosafety
September 16 - 17, 2025
Under the (German) Genetic Engineering Act Project Leaders and Responsible Persons for Biosafety must complete a supplementary training with emphasis on risk assessment, safety measures, principles of legislation and worker protection. Such a state approved course is being offered in the English language at Hannover Medical School.
The content is based on the curriculum of the Federal Biotechnology Authority with viral vector systems, transgenic animal models and the European Genetic Engineering Directive as additional areas of focus.
