Every day for life
Hannover Medical School (MHH) is one of the largest transplant centers in Germany for all solid organs, and is even a world leader in lung transplants. Every year, the physicians at the MHH Transplant Centre transplant 300 to 400 organs.
Under the direction of Prof. Dr. Moritz Schmelzle, the center brings together all Clinical Departments, Institutes and outpatient clinics involved in transplant medicine. Interdisciplinary teams work together to provide patients with the best possible therapy in the event of organ failure. Before, during and after a transplant, experienced physicians, Nursing staff, medical assistants, psychologists and other professional groups accompany patients on their journey.
The MHH has been one of Germany's pioneers in transplant medicine since 1968. The combination of research and patient care makes it possible to continuously improve the results of transplantation and thus the quality of life of patients. Teaching and training strengthen the qualified care of patients.
