Off to adventure! Your courses during pregnancy
Becoming a parent and starting a family is exciting! We hope that you can experience this exciting time together with other pregnant women from Hanover - regardless of whether you are pregnant with one baby, twins or triplets! Our motto is: At the MHH Parents' School you will find the greatest expertise AND the greatest closeness! Network in our pregnancy courses. Exchange ideas. And grow beyond yourselves in the group.
Whether it's swimming for pregnant women, antenatal classes, yoga for pregnant women or baby care classes: at the MHH Parents' School, we bring together what belongs together.
We especially recommend one of our first aid courses for children! This will prepare you for emergencies in infancy and childhood.
Are you interested in cloth diapering but don't yet know whether it's right for you and your baby? Then find out more at one of our parent seminars.
In the best hands right from the start... MHH!
Is this your first baby? Do you have little or no experience in dealing with newborns? Then we would like to recommend an infant care course in addition to the birth preparation course.
In small groups, under the guidance of experienced pediatric nurses, parents and grandparents are prepared for the new tasks and the handling of the baby. You will have the opportunity to learn all about Nursing, feeding and the needs of the baby. Consciously come into contact with your child and recognize early on how you can support your baby's development in a playful and attentive way
Changing diapers, bathing, dressing - what is the best way to do this? What should be in the nursery and what not? How should the sleeping environment be designed for the child?
These and other questions relating to baby care are dealt with theoretically and practically in this course so that you feel well equipped for the new family member.
Grandparents-to-be are also welcome to attend the course. Sleeping, crying, waking - what should grandparents know in order to be able to support their daughters/sons and grandchildren well?

"Children are not small adults" is a basic rule in medicine. This applies not only to their thinking, feeling and physical performance. Children also have special medical characteristics: acute illnesses that only occur at this age or certain injuries that often happen to children.
Medical research has also shown that in every emergency situation (respiratory disorders, treatment of injuries, procedures for poisoning and burns, febrile convulsions ... ), the first few minutes are crucial for survival and quality of life after an emergency situation has been overcome. That is why it is very important to act correctly and prudently in these first few minutes.
The special seminars for parents clearly show the essential differences compared to first aid for adults:
We have two offers for you: Either you take part in a six-hour weekend seminar with the experienced teacher for medical professions and specialist trainer for first aid on children, Mr. Christian Feder.
Or you can register for one of our four-hour Friday courses with the experienced pediatric intensive care nurse and MHH expert Katy Flammiger(www.littlecare.de).

Baby sleep can be wonderful, but also quite challenging. In this course, we want to give you security, guidance and relief:
What does a baby really need to sleep well?
What is normal and what is not?
And how can parents take good care of themselves?
You will talk about a safe sleeping environment, sensible rituals, realistic expectations and all the questions that are often associated with uncertainty or pressure:
Does a baby have to sleep through the night?
What helps with restless nights?
And is pampering really a bad thing?
With space for exchange, honest looks at everyday life and the aim of giving you more peace and confidence on the way.
Cost: per person 39 euros/ per couple 75 euros

A new baby is on the way - an exciting time for the whole family! However, this change brings with it many questions, feelings and sometimes uncertainties, not only for the parents, but also for expectant older siblings. In our lovingly designed sibling course, children can experience what it means to be a big sibling in a playful and age-appropriate way.
What can you expect on the course?
The children learn in a happy group:
- What babies can already do in the womb
- How a baby grows in the tummy
- How mom changes - and why mom is sometimes tired or her belly gets so round
- What babies need after birth
- How to hold and care for a baby (with a baby doll for practicing)
- How important older siblings are - and how they can help
- That all feelings - from pride to jealousy - are perfectly okay
We want to help children look forward to their new role as big sister or big brother, develop confidence in themselves and get answers to their questions. Of course, we also play, laugh and cuddle.
Your children will become little artists and we will round off the time with a small gift for the baby and creative belly painting.
Who for: Children from approx. 3 to 8 years accompanied by a parent
Cost: 39 euros for mom and soon-to-be sibling, plus 15 euros per child for additional siblings

More and more families in Germany are accompanying three, four or even more children on their journey into the adventure of life. Each child brings a new dynamic to the family. Roles change. The different needs of all those involved - big, medium and small - need to be recognized. Responsibilities are no longer the same. And logistically, life with three, four, five and more children is also a challenge for parents.
Are you soon to be parents of at least three children?
Are you wondering:
- "How do we stay a couple and 'me' with such a concentrated shower of children?
- How do we deal with the big changes in our family?
- How can the siblings be responsibly prepared for their role as brother/sister in a family with several children?
- Where does normal end and where does "big" begin?
- And how do we organize and structure our everyday lives?"
Then this workshop is the right place for you - live online (to save you having to find a babysitter). Personal. Up close. And packed with tried-and-tested tips for a harmonious start to family life.

For many women, a 9-month period of rest begins after a positive pregnancy test.
Those who have never enjoyed exercise may see pregnancy as an excuse not to start now more than ever. Many sports enthusiasts, on the other hand, are afraid of putting too much strain on themselves and their child through sport. However, exercise during pregnancy contributes to a healthy pregnancy and strengthens you and your body!
So! Let's go! The MHH Parent School offers you great opportunities for a healthy pregnancy, such as
Pregnancy swimming
- Thursdays 9.00-10.00 am at the MHH
Targeted exercise in the water (aqua gymnastics, aqua jogging and relaxation) supports the health of mother and child. Regular training can maintain and support the expectant mother's performance and well-being in everyday and professional life.
Pregnancy-related complaints, e.g. low back and back pain, pelvic problems, sciatica, varicose veins, venous lymph congestion are alleviated or prevented. Targeted breathing training during the training session should enable the pregnant woman to cope better with the contractions during the birth.
Pregnancy swimming is a useful addition to "classic" birth preparation for first-time mothers or a good alternative for women giving birth more than once.
After the birth, you are welcome to take the postnatal swimming course. Our midwife Doris will be happy to accompany you.
Please contact Doris Gaedeke directly by phone or WhatsApp at 01786069361
In many ways, yoga is the perfect companion during your pregnancy: yoga helps you to embrace this exciting phase of change - physically, mentally and emotionally.
Yoga during pregnancy has a positive effect on mother and child and also helps you prepare for the birth. With gentle yoga exercises and targeted breathing exercises, the muscular and hormonal changes in the body are ideally supported, the body is kept vital and common complaints such as lower back pain are prevented.
Curious? Then come to our special course with yoga teacher Natalie Schmitz. The course takes place every Friday from 3 to 4 pm and is ongoing.
Costs: 150€, 10x60 min. or 8x75 min.
You can join at any time. Please register here anyway: Of course you can also contact Natalie directly. She will then tell you what to expect, what you need to bring and where the course will take place. Just send a short email to kontakt@beckenbodengesundheit-hannover.de.
