For some diseases in children and adolescents, hematopoietic stem cell transplantation is the only possible cure. In the KMT outpatient clinic, patients and their families are informed about this form of treatment and, if necessary, prepared for the transplant. Children and adolescents who are discharged from inpatient treatment after a transplant regularly come to the KMT outpatient clinic to receive competent care from the physicians they already know.

Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is an often hereditary disease of the heart muscles and occurs in approximately one in 500 people. Progressive thickening of the walls of the left ventricle can lead to shortness of breath, fainting, chest pain and cardiac arrhythmia, and even sudden cardiac death. HCM remains undiagnosed for a long time and requires intensive collaboration between cardiologists, cardiac surgeons and human geneticists, both in terms of diagnosis and treatment.

In our special outpatient clinic (cardio), we examine the HCM disease in detail and develop the optimum diagnosis and treatment strategy. We also carry out differential diagnostic investigations of unclear cardiac cardiomyopathies (e.g. cardiac amyloidosis, Fabry disease) and initiate targeted therapy.

Monday to Friday 07:00 to 13:00

The Clinical Department for Rehabilitation Medicine at the MHH offers a comprehensive range of therapeutic services in line with guidelines as part of the special consultation hours for incontinence.

Disorders of bladder and bowel function, organ prolapse or pain in the pelvic floor structures of various kinds, such as after operations (e.g. prostatectomy), birth injuries (e.g. perineal tear), compression syndromes or psychological disorders are treated on an outpatient basis by a specialist physiotherapy team following a medical examination and rehabilitative assessments.
Indications include conditions such as stress and faecal incontinence, neurogenic and non-neurogenic overactive bladder, voiding disorders and organ prolapse. Patients are also treated promptly before and after urological or gynecological operations.

Therapeutic methods of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) to reduce symptoms, such as acupuncture or electro-acupuncture, have been available to patients on a self-pay basis in addition to pelvic floor training since June 2018.
