The Clinical Department of Trauma Surgery is regularly looking for
ASSISTANT DOCTORS (f/d/m)
for further training as a specialist in orthopaedics and trauma surgery.
The Trauma Surgery Clinical Department of the MHH offers
- a maximum care hospital with the entire spectrum of trauma surgery and a broad spectrum of orthopaedic diseases, including endoprosthetics, reconstructive surgery, tumor surgery, pelvic surgery, spinal surgery, as well as hand, rheumatism and foot surgery
- a broad range of further training in trauma surgery and orthopaedics
- our own intensive care unit and the emergency ambulance (NEF) and rescue helicopter (RTH) Christoph 4 stationed here.
- In cooperation with the Clinical Department of Orthopaedics (at Annastift) of the MHH, full authorization for further training in orthopaedics and trauma surgery, as well as full authorization for further training in special trauma surgery and for the additional qualification in rescue medicine,
- extensive research opportunities (molecular biology laboratory, biomechanics laboratory, research workshops, etc.) and collaborations (e.g. Olympic training center)
Tasks include patient care in the operating theater, on the ward, in the emergency room and outpatient clinic, as well as preclinical emergency care on NEF and RTH after obtaining the additional qualification in rescue medicine, as well as research and teaching.
We are looking for enthusiastic colleagues who are interested in and enjoy clinical trauma surgery as well as academic tasks (scientific work and teaching). A completed doctorate is desirable. We expect good communication skills, a willingness to take responsibility, flexibility and reliability.

Medical training and career
In cooperation with the other departments in the Center for Surgery (Visceral and Transplant Surgery, Thoracic, Cardiovascular Surgery, Plastic, Aesthetic, Hand and Reconstructive Surgery and Pediatric Surgery), your whole training to become a specialist in surgery and trauma surgery can be completed at the Clinical Department of Trauma Surgery.
The training includes rotations on the regular surgical wards, on the surgical intensive care units and in the Central Emergency Room of the MHH with the crew of the rescue helicopter Christoph 4 and the emergency ambulance NEF 5 of the Hannover Fire Brigade.
As part of the new further training regulations, training as a specialist in trauma surgery and orthopaedics is offered in cooperation with the Clinical Department of Orthopaedics (at Annastift) of the MHH.
A daily X-ray discussion and an indications conference take place in everyday clinical practice.
A weekly complications meeting has been established. Once a week, an internal clinic training course is held with a focus lecture, literature report and case presentation.
In addition, the Trauma Surgery Clinical Department organizes numerous training events for physicians.
