Palliative medicine

Palliative medicine is not about healing, but about quality of life. It is about alleviating agonizing symptoms and responding to the physical and mental needs of terminally ill patients. For children, it is particularly important to spend as much time as possible at home.

In order to be able to meet the various problems and needs of seriously ill and dying people and their relatives, we care for our patients and their relatives in a multi-professional team of specialized physicians, specialists from Nursing, Psychology, Social Work, Physiotherapy, Art Therapy, Pastoral Care and volunteers.

Palliative medicine at the MHH is an integral part of the palliative care center for the city and region of Hanover. There are collaborations with hospices and specialized outpatient palliative care services (SAPV) in and around Hanover. You can find a complete list of all partners in the Hannover City & Region Palliative Care Center on the Hannover City & Region Palliative Care Center website.
