Nursing is more!
than just holding hands and being nice.
As a super-maximum care hospital, Hannover Medical School provides patients with complex clinical pictures with the highest level of medical and nursing care and is often the last port of call for patients who can no longer be treated elsewhere.
Nursing assumes responsibility for managing the care process and coordinates the complex care processes in close cooperation with all other professional groups and departments involved in providing care. It supports the use of the latest medical procedures and techniques and is responsible for the implementation of complex therapeutic procedures. The combination of complex clinical pictures, severe and critical courses of illness and rare diseases in particular requires Nursing with particular professional specializations. A high level of professionalism with specialist nursing, medical, medical-technical and pharmacological knowledge is just as necessary as critical-reflective, social, ethical and communication skills.
Nursing ensures continuity, safety and personal attention by being close to the patient - especially in stressful and critical situations that threaten the patient's existence. This requires in-depth knowledge, a high level of professionalism, flexibility and agility.
With our broad range of training, further education and study programmes, we lay the foundations for your professional development and specialization.
As a university institution, the MHH stands for the continuous scientific development of the discipline of Nursing, where research and teaching in connection with patient care are lived directly every day.

We will support you in all organizational matters relating to the internship and, above all, by giving you paid time off, i.e. working on the Cote d'Azur, for example, but your salary will come from Hanover as usual. You can also benefit from our large network of participating Clinical Departments throughout Europe. You are also welcome to look for an internship yourself according to your needs.
You can find more information on the Erasmus+ homepage of the MHH.

Nursing at MHH is much more than holding hands: We see Nursing not as a vocation, but as a demanding profession.
We are highly qualified professionals who work together confidently and trustingly on an equal footing with the other professional groups in the various specialist areas of MHH medicine.
Of course, the skills you need depend very much on which Department you are interested in. For example, the premature infant intensive care unit requires completely different skills than psychiatry... But - don't worry - if you don't think you have the complete package yet, we will make you fit and support you in learning what you need. Take a look at our offers for training and further education.

#powerofdiversity
MHH Nursing is interested in everything about you except your look. At the end of the day, what matters is what you can do, not what you look like, what you believe in or who you love.
Our sole focus is to offer you the best possible conditions, to use your skills to achieve our common goals and to continuously develop your abilities. We see ourselves as a professional community - acceptance and openness are the cornerstones of our daily collaboration.
We are proud of this diversity and firmly believe that it makes us even more efficient.

In the intensive care sector, MHH Nursing is much more than you might think. As a maximum care provider, we are often the last and only chance for our intensive care patients. And not just since Covid-19!
In order to be successful in an interdisciplinary team, there are two further aspects of nursing in the intensive care sector: speed and technology. Changes in the often critical condition of patients must be recognized quickly and reacted to even faster. Here, moments in which the right buttons have to be pressed are decisive.
In addition to the usual ITS areas, there are also very special ITS wards for e.g. severely burnt patients, extremely premature babies or heart and lung transplant patients.
You can find more information on the Nursing Intensive Care homepage of the MHH.
