The advisory services at a glance
Personal development
Career guidance advice from Prof. Dr. Nils Schneider, Director of the Institute ofGeneral Medicine and Palliative Medicine. It deals with questions such as: What specialty should I pursue? What opportunities are there in science, Clinical Department or practice? What other fields of activity might be possible? How can I reconcile my professional and private interests? Professor Schneider offers his external support primarily for advising medical students, physicians and scientists.

Career support within and outside the university is of crucial importance for planning and pursuing a career as a life scientist. The Administrative Unit for Research Promotion, Knowledge and Technology Transfer (FWT2) aims to promote, strengthen, support and accompany life scientists on their path, individually tailored to their goals and requirements. The services offered by FWT2 range from strengthening professional and methodological skills to individual career coaching.
Our practical goal as Human Resources (HR) is to get the right people into the right positions, to develop their skills and thus ensure their employability and the long-term success of MHH. Human Resources thus becomes an enabler of development.
This is how we can provide support:
What should I bear in mind during a TV or radio interview, how do I act safely in front of the camera and microphone and what is the best way to respond to journalists' questions? Should I be active on social media and how does that work? The Communications Administrative Unit team can help with these questions - with professionals from print, TV, audio and online.

All MHH employees have the option of notifying the employer of an overload of work. The Occupational Safety Department receives all overload reports that you send us.
Describe in the overload report what caused the overload and what hazards were involved. Reporting a short-term overload situation can already provide you with legal protection.
If the overload persists for a longer period of time, it is possible to conduct an overload procedure. In a calm setting, you can discuss what is putting a strain on your day-to-day work. In an overload procedure, solutions are discussed with your superiors that can relieve you or the team. This gives you the opportunity to concentrate on the content, while we provide a good, respectful framework. The overload procedures are also supported by HR management and the Staff Council.
After sending an overload report with a request for a procedure, a preliminary meeting is always held with us to discuss the next steps.
►For more information, please use this intranet link (only accessible internally in the MHH network) and read the service agreement on dealing with overload reports at MHH.
